Fans were puzzled when the results from the second round of the 2019 Dutch Masters, held at Axel, filtered through, as Max Anstie failed to finish the final premier-class encounter. It has now become apparent that he crashed out and hit his elbow pretty hard, so had to head to hospital for further evaluations. The good news is that there is no significant damage and he will be ready to race at the Grand Prix of Lombardia this weekend.
"After a @HGS_Exhaust_Systems holeshot and second in moto one, at @ResAxel @DutchMastersofMX, I decided to throw myself down the track in moto two. Fortunately nothing's broken after having x-rays last night, I just hit the nerve in my elbow pretty hard so it made my arm feel weird and swell up. The doc this morning said I have got some physio to do, but I'll be good to go in a few days so see you all at Mantova."
Max Anstie started that Dutch Masters event with a brilliant second in moto one and, despite the fact that he did not score points in moto two, still runs fourth in the premier-class championship standings.
